Our volunteers perform a range of duties, including responding to emergencies, extinguishing fires, conducting rescue operations, providing medical assistance, and educating the public on fire safety measures.
“Hi, my name is Jason O’Connor, and I am the Fire Chief of Penn Hills #224. We are currently looking for Junior Firefighters. Applicants must be 16 years old to join the program, where you will participate in all activities similar to senior firefighters, except for fighting fires until you turn 18 and become a senior firefighter. You’ll roll up hoses, learn to use the tools, attend the fire academy, and more. Join us on Monday nights to get familiar with the trucks and observe our drills.”

Since 1925, Point Breeze Volunteer Fire Association proudly served Penn Hills, Verona, and neighboring communities in the East Boros mutual aid agreement, offering fire suppression, hazardous materials response with Haz-Mat Team 440, and since 2010, quick response services for Penn Hills EMS.
